In the painting

Here is a test of how the artist might look within the painted world. We are still working on the final look of the world.

Some test renders

Finaly a few test imges of the environment renders. The lighting has not been applied correctly yet and there are bits of geometry which still need to be textured or replaced. The compositing/grading has not been done yet so realy this is just a basic idea of what is to come.
We are feeling really happy with the way things are going. The painting environment is now under way.

Images which shoud not yet be judged!

We have just put most of our large assets into the scene. The texturing s still not completed and the textures you can see all need a lot of tweaking.
Also, obviously the lighting has not yet been done. We were not really ready to show these images but we have an art direction meeting so this makes it easier! The bare areas in the scene will not be seen in the film. There is still a lot to do.

Paintings

An artist named Mark Briscoe (http://www.drakebriscoe.com/index.htm ) has kindly let us use his work in our film. At the moment we are trying to work out what painting to pick for the artist to walk into. It is meant to feel like a very peaceful tranquil world.

Texturing

Assets

We are currently in the process of Modeling and Texturing the studio environment. We are looking to achieve a photorealistic look. Here are just a few of the assets that have have been created so far.

Modeling by Nick Hurst, Texturing and Uving by Jo Wand.

Inspired

We are currently making a short VFX film which is called Inspired. We shot the film on Green screen and are currently making the 3D environments for the film in Maya.
The film is about an artist who works alone in his studio and can interact with his paintings. He walks into one of them which becomes a world around him.

Here are a few stills from the shoot.
